Funding for Training

On-the-Job training allows us to help you train new employees.

On-the-Job Training (OJT) addresses the critical workforce needs of eligible employers in attaining a qualified, skilled workforce with the competencies they need. OJT can be a tool that is appropriate for employers who have difficulty filling their skilled labor force needs with qualified, experienced workers. Employers may use an OJT in these instances by training an eligible participant/employee.

OJT is an “earn and learn” employment model where eligible participants upgrade, retool, and increase their employability skills. This model allows the employer to be reimbursed up to 50% of the participant/employee’s wages for the training period. Employers are approved, and new participants/employees must be recruited and screened through one of the CareerSource Suncoast Centers for eligibility determination.

Customized Training continues to develop and train your employees.

Employee customized training and development are important to business success. Because we live in an environment with constant workplace shifts and competitive demands, CareerSource Suncoast (CSS) provides employers access to training services and programs for credentials, certifications, and licenses for their employees.

Customized training provides reimbursement grants for customized training offered to strengthen or upgrade the skills of business employees. Through our program, we can help improve your competitive edge while retaining your employees and maximizing employee productivity.

We have connections with local schools and training providers as well as grant funds to assist with the costs of training.
