Bilingual Payroll / HR Assistant

Job Description:

 

  • Processes weekly payroll for 250+ hourly employees utilizing multiple payroll/accounting system.
  • All related payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
  • Provide administrative support for HR department.
  • Maintain and update I9, and E-verify retention standards.
  • Ensure that the relevant HR database(s) are up to date, accurate and in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Schedule interviews for department managers.
  • Coordinate the new hire process with all mangers, including but not limited to drug tests, orientation, and all new hire paperwork, assists in onboarding and E-verify requirements.
  • Maintain the Child Support Deduction Orders and/or Garnishment Order reports and Payments.
  • Assist  with periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Assists with benefit enrollment as well as administering various employee benefit programs including terminations.
  • Maintains and assist with employees’ uniforms.
  • Respond with urgency to employee requests.
  • Provide excellent customer service inquiries from public or employees. 
  • Assists with day-to-day operations of the HR Director functions and duties.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in related field required.
  • 5 years of prior related payroll experience preferred.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos both in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Bilingual required – Spanish preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Pay: $25/hour
